''The society was formed in 1992, due to the efforts of Owen Nash, whose brainchild it was and who remained the mainspring behind its activities throughout its existence. Sadly the Society was wound up in 2011, shortly after Owen retired.

Ever since it started I have maintained this website on behalf of the society. When it closed down my first thought was to take down the website. But after reflection I realised that this is an important archive of what the society achieved during its lifetime and would still be of great interest to pipers in this area and beyond. It is also a way of thanking Owen Nash, without whom we would never had enjoyed all the wonderful performances recorded here.

Every year the Society held two recitals by two leading pipers, one around April and the other around November. The usual format was for each piper to play two spots of about 30-40 minutes each. The evening would start about 7.30pm and finish about 10.30pm.

From time to time a full pipe band would be invited down give a concert. These included the Vale of Atholl, Boghall and Bathgate, Scottish Power and Kintyre Schools.

We also had quartets from Field Marshall Montgomery, Scottish Power, and Strathclyde Police.
