Practices:
The Band was formed originally as Whitley Bay and District Pipe Band on 13th October 1958. Since then it has changed its name twice, first to the Macgregor Pipe Band, and in 1981 it changed its name to North Tyneside.

The band is always looking to recruit new members whether they be experienced pipers or drummers or beginners. Full tuition is given.

Band practices take place in St John's Church, Wideopen, which is approximately 6 miles north of Newcastle city centre. They take place on most Wednesday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
